Description

A program tailored to each child.

Has your child never practiced before?

We will teach him the basics of rigging, launching, and steering his Optimist.

Is your child already sailing in an Optimist?

We will provide him with individualized instruction so that he can progress at his own pace.

Who is it for? (Beginners and Intermediate learners).

Our instructors adapt to the level of each group:

Shipmate Level (Beginner): No experience required. Children discover the boat, learn not to be afraid of capsizing (the famous controlled “ditching”!) and how to steer their boat.

Captain Level (Advanced): For those who have already completed a course. We refine technique, learn how to adjust the sail to go faster, and introduce participants to recreational racing.

Why choose CNCrans en Terre Sainte?

Ideally located between Nyon and Coppet, our club offers a safe and less crowded lake, perfect for beginners to learn without stress. The atmosphere is family-friendly and our facilities are comfortable for children.

Support

The Optimist: The ideal boat for beginners.

The Optimist is the world's leading small sailing boat for learning. Stable, unsinkable, and easy to maneuver, it allows children to quickly gain confidence.

  • Autonomy: Your child is in complete control (while being closely monitored by the instructor's motorboat).

  • For younger children, it is possible to sail in pairs.
  • Comprehensive training: He will learn how to rig (prepare) his boat, understand the wind, stay on course, and tie his first nautical knots.

This week's schedule:

  • Navigation: Learning sailing techniques, tacking, and wind management on an Optimist dinghy.
  • Safety & Environment: Understand the weather, respect the lake, and follow boating rules.
  • Games & Fun: Because it's vacation time, sessions include balance games, swimming, and challenges between friends.
