Give your children an unforgettable summer by the water!
Located in the idyllic setting of Crans-près-Céligny, in the heart of Terre Sainte (Vaud), the Club Nautique de Crans sailing school welcomes children aged 4 to 16 for weeks of discovery and fun.
Whether it’s for a fun introduction to sailing at the Jardin des Lacs, learning to sail an Optimist dinghy, or seeking speed in a catamaran, our courses are tailored to suit everyone’s pace. Supervised by passionate, certified instructors, your children will develop their seamanship, independence and team spirit, all in a friendly and safe environment just a stone’s throw from Nyon.

Frequently asked questions about our sailing courses and camps.
Does my child need to know how to swim to participate?
Safety is our top priority. For Dériveurs and Catamaran courses, participants must be able to swim. For younger children in Optimist courses, being comfortable in the water is sufficient. In all cases, life jackets must be worn by all children as soon as they approach the pontoons and throughout the entire sailing session. Life jackets are provided by the club.
What equipment should I put in my child's bag?
No need to invest in an expensive wetsuit to get started! Here is the ideal list for the little sailor:
-
Closed-toe shoes that can get wet (old trainers or neoprene slippers) – flip-flops are not permitted on board.
-
A windbreaker or a K-way.
-
A cap and sunglasses (with a cord so you don’t lose them!).
-
High protection sun cream (to be applied before arrival).
-
A complete change of clothes and a bath towel.
What happens in case of bad weather or rain?
Sailing is a water sport, so we sail even when it rains! However, in the event of a storm or strong winds, the instructors prioritise safety. The children stay ashore for theoretical activities (nautical knots, theory, crafts) or educational games at the Club House, waiting for the weather to calm down.
How are lunches organised?
The camps often last the whole day. Meals are eaten together on the terrace of the Club House. Meals and snacks are provided by our neighbour, the Crans refreshment bar. This is followed by a quiet period under the supervision of the instructors. It is a much-appreciated moment of relaxation and conviviality!
Do you have to be a member of the Crans Nautical Club to register?
No, our sailing courses are open to everyone, members and non-members from across the region (Crans, Nyon, Céligny, Founex, Coppet, Terre Sainte, etc.). However, becoming a member gives you access to preferential rates and allows you to enjoy the club’s facilities throughout the year.
