At the Club Nautique de Crans (VD) sailing school, this modern and dynamic boat allows students to progress from solo sailing (Optimist or RS Tera type) to crewed sailing. It is the ideal boat for teenagers who want to discover the thrill of sailing and coordination in pairs.

Our RS Feva courses and training sessions in Terre Sainte

The RS Feva is not just a boat, it is a school of camaraderie and technique. Here’s why it is the favorite boat of our instructors in Crans:

  • Learning as a duo: On board the RS Feva, you learn to communicate. A helmsman and a crew member work together to optimize the boat’s speed.
  • Thrill seekers: Thanks to its asymmetrical spinnaker, the RS Feva offers exciting acceleration as soon as the wind picks up, while remaining very stable and safe.
  • Versatility: Whether for a fun introduction or to improve your skills for regattas, the Feva is suitable for all levels.
  • Sturdiness: Its polyethylene shell is robust, ideal for learning without fear of damaging the equipment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can my child be in the same boat as a friend?

Yes, absolutely! The RS Feva is a double dinghy, so sailing is done in pairs (a helmsman and a crew member). Please specify this when registering so that we can organize crews according to affinities.

What happens in case of unfavorable weather conditions (strong winds or calm conditions)?

Safety is our priority. If conditions on the lake do not allow for safe sailing, our instructors offer theoretical activities at the clubhouse (marine knots, racing rules, weather) or fun activities related to the nautical environment.

At what age can you start sailing on an RS Feva?

The RS Feva is ideal for pre-teens and teenagers, generally between the ages of 10 and 14. It is the perfect transition boat after the Optimist, as it requires physical strength and coordination suited to this age group.

Do you need to have sailed before to get on an RS Feva?

Not necessarily. Although previous experience in a single-handed dinghy (such as the Optimist) is a plus, the RS Feva is a very stable boat. Our certified instructors adapt their teaching methods to enable beginners to learn the basics directly in pairs.
