The wind of success blows through the Sailing School

The 2025 season is coming to a close at the Crans Nautical Club! It has been a year rich in sailing, encounters and successes, carried by a wind of enthusiasm that shows no sign of abating. Before putting the boats away for the winter, let’s take a moment to look back on this wonderful sailing season.

A young and dynamic sailing school

The children’s courses and camps were once again a great success! Every summer, they welcome more and more young sailors eager to discover the joys of sailing on Lake Geneva.
Supervised by a motivated and attentive team, our young sailors were able to try out new equipment: from the Laser 2000 for learning in pairs, to the Surprise for learning to sail as part of a crew, not to mention the thrilling Hobie Tiger.
Seeing their progress, their smiles and their desire to come back next summer is the greatest reward for the entire sailing school team.

Adult training: a season of success

The adults were also highly motivated! Evening classes continue to attract participants with their friendly atmosphere and ideal format for enjoying the lake after work. They have become an unmissable opportunity to learn, exchange ideas and enjoy the evening light on Lake Geneva.
When it comes to licences, the results speak for themselves: 87% pass rate for motorboat licences and 100% for sailing licences — a record we are very proud of! The season even ended on 1 December with a final successful sailing licence. Well done to everyone for their commitment!

Regattas: always in the running

Led by our Base Manager, the adults – and even the youngest sailors – also distinguished themselves during the evening weeks and local regattas, particularly in Versoix and Founex. The results speak for themselves: regular podium finishes, often in second place… earning us the humorous nickname of “Poulidors de la voile” (the sailing underdogs)! A friendly nod that perfectly illustrates the competitive spirit and good humour that reigns within the club.

Already looking ahead to 2026

With the end of the season, the base is entering winter hibernation and the boats are returning to the shipyard for some well-deserved maintenance.
But there’s no question of staying in the dock for too long: the team is already preparing for the 2026 season with new offers, enhanced training courses and the same goal as always — sharing a passion for sailing in a friendly and authentic atmosphere.

Thank you all for a wonderful season. The lake breeze, the club’s friendly atmosphere and the joy of being on the water have us already looking forward to next year!
