Much more than just a home port, the Crans Nautical Club (CNC) bears witness to a human and sporting epic that began on the shores of the Holy Land. Since its foundation, the club has been thrilling sailing enthusiasts, uniting generations around a shared ambition: to promote sailing in Crans.

The Birth of a Nautical Community

It all began in 1967. At a time when recreational boating on Lake Geneva was taking off, a handful of visionaries decided to organize the local passion. This marked the birth of the Crans Nautical Club.

From the moment it opened, the club's spirit was clear: friendliness, sharing, and respect for the lake. The first regattas were held, and the port quickly became a must-visit spot for sailors from the Nyon area and beyond.

From Tradition to Modernity: The Evolution of the CNC

Over the decades, the CNC has evolved without ever losing its soul.

The Sailing School: Very quickly, passing on knowledge became a priority. Generations of children learned to steer their first Optimists here, before becoming experienced sailors on our Surprise or catamarans.

A Lively Port: The club has accompanied the transformations of the port of Crans, modernizing its infrastructure to accommodate a diverse fleet, from traditional sailboats to the most modern cruising vessels.

A Memorable Jubilee for 50 Years

In 2017, the Crans Nautical Club celebrated its 50th anniversary. A historic celebration by the water brought together old and new members. This jubilee marked not only half a century of memories, but also the launch of ambitious new projects for the future of water sports in Vaud.

Now over 58 years old, the CNC remains a major player in community and sporting life on Lake Geneva. With its active cruising section, motorboat and sailing license courses, and famous Tuesday evening meals, the Club Nautique de Crans continues to write its history every day, with you.
